Crochet 101 Single Crochet

Hello friends! I am so excited for this post! This first of many of my "Crochet 101" series.  Today I am teaching y'all the first step to learning to crochet, the chain stitch and single crochet. These two stitches will be used in almost every project, and are essentials. I use single crochet a lot for amigurumi, wash cloths and for borders around larger projects. You will get a lot of use out of it too! So, lets get started! First, Start with a slip knot : Once you have that down, you are going to start out Chain Stitch . To do so, you grab the working yarn (the yarn attached to the skein) and pull it through the loop on your hook. Its that simple! You continue to do so until you have reached desired length. To practice try 11 chain stitches. Now, let turn this "snake" into something! To start a single crochet insert hook into the 2nd stitch from hook (pointed out in pic).
